Adults and children over 12 years: 1 sachet three times a day
Children 6-12 years: 1 sachet twice a day
Please Note: Prospan contains sorbitol. The maximum daily dosage for adults and children over 12 years (1 sachet three times a day) contains 5.8 grams of sorbitol. Products containing Sorbitol may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhoea.

Q. Why is this not recommended for use during pregnancy?

Q. Is it safe to give to my 2 and 4 year olds?
Clinicians Prospan® is well tolerated by children. We recommend that children under 2 are checked by a health professional first, as small children can become unwell very quickly.
Q. Does it contain gluten?
No, Clinicians Prospan® is gluten, alcohol, sugar and colouring free making it suitable for a wide range of people.
Q. My children refuse to take cough mixture because of the taste, will this be the same?
You should have no problems with your children. Clinicians Prospan® has a very mild flavour and is also sugar, alcohol and colouring free.
Each 5ml dose contains: Hedera helix (Ivy leaf) dry extract (5-7.5:1) 35 mg. Also contains: citric acid, natural cherry flavour, potassium sorbate, sorbitol 1.93mg/5ml (sugar substitute), xanthan gum, purified water. No Added: gluten or wheat, dairy, yeast, sugar, artificial colours and flavours.
