A 500g of PURE makes 9 litres of electrolyte hydration drink, when mixed with water.
Mix 1 level 14g scoop of powder for every 250ml of water and shake well. Can be used before, during and after exercise and training. Consume within 12 hours of mixing. If clumping occurs shake well.
2 Scoops per 500ml of water, 3 scoops per 750ml of water.
Pure Electrolyte Hydration Drink Product Usage Guidelines
Sports nutrition requirements vary greatly between individuals and need to take into account gender, size, fitness status, environment and intensity of exercise. Here are some general guidelines to help get you started.
Sessions less than 60 minutes: 500-750ml water
High intensity sessions less than 60 minutes: 500-1000ml Pure
Sessions longer than 60 minutes:
Carbohydrate aim 30 – 60g per hour (from food & fluid).
Fluid aim 500-750ml Pure per hour.
Example: 500ml bottle of Pure (27g carbohydrate) + standard gel (25g carbohydrate) = 52g carbohydrate
Race day Nutrition
24-48 hours pre race: Maximize hydration in the lead up to race time. Pure is perfect for assisting in carbohydrate loading regimes (750ml Pure = 40g carbohydrate) as well as optimising your hydration status.
Aim: To remain within 1-2% of pre race body weight (this is key in the prevention of fatigue)
Sip away at Pure pre race to ensure glycogen stores are maximised (particularly if you have a thorough warm up).
Races over 60 minutes require upwards of 50g of carbohydrate per hour. Aim to drink 500-750ml Pure per hour.
Hint. Begin eating + drinking early on in your race and continue to do this at frequent intervals to allow a consistent delivery of carbohydrates, electrolytes and fluid. This also decreases the chances of gastrointestinal discomfort.
Have a carbohydrate containing beverage or snack within 30 minutes of completion of your event e.g. 750ml Pure. This is the golden window for replenishing glycogen stores to optimise recovery.
Post race fluid requirements:
Pre race body weight minus post race body weight X 1.5
e.g. pre race weight (78kg) minus post race weight (77kg) = 1kg X 1.5 =1.5L of Pure required to replace loss fluids.
