Can help with eye problems such as failing vision, night vision, glaucoma, cataracts, irritated and tired eyes. Improves vision and strengthens capillaries. Assists eyes to adjust to glare and darkness. Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) is also known in some parts of the U.S. as huckleberry. During World War II, British pilots ate lots of bilberries before their night flights to nutritionally support their vision. Bilberry also supports circulatory health by strengthening capillaries. Its active constituents include anthocyanins and tannins. Nature's Sunshine uses 40 mg of bilberry fruit standardized to 25 percent anthocyanins. Bilberry should be used over several months, in order for the body to best assimilate its unique nutritional properties.
Recommendations: Take two tablets with a meal. May be taken up to three times daily.

Recent US research suggests that Bilberry or blueberries may help improve sight and provide protection against worsening vision, glaucoma, cataracts and similar disorders. Traditionally the berries were dried and used to cure diarrhoea and food poisoning.
Medical research now offers a scientific basis for such remedies, for they contain antibacterial compounds (called anthocyanins) which are particularly effective against some forms of E. coli, the main culprit of many gastro intestinal disorders. Because the berries inhibit bacteria such as E.coli, (which can spread up the urinary tract to the bladder), they are a valuable aid against recurrent urinary tract infections such as cystitis.
At the same time (like cranberries) blueberries contain a substance which can prevent infectious bacteria from clinging to the mucous membranes of the bladder and urethra.
Each tablet contains 40 mg Bilberry fruit concentrate standardized to 25% anthocyanins. This is the equivalent of 4,000 mg of Vaccinium myrtillus, at a 100:1 ratio. Also contains Calcium (di-calcium phosphate) 100 mg, Phosphorous (di-calcium phosphate) 80 mg, cellulose, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide. Other ingredients: Cellulose (plant fibre) stearic acid (vegetable), magnesium stearate (vegetable) and silicon dioxide (powdered silica)
