HS II [Circulatory] is a herbal combination which contains Hawthorn berries, Capsicum fruit & Garlic bulb. This formula naturally contains zinc, important to cell growth and repair. Over 90 enzymes are dependent on this mineral in order to function. Hawthorn berry, a herb regarded by the ancient Greeks and Romans as a symbol of hope and happiness, makes up the bulk of this combination. Hawthorn is known as The Heart Herb. It help strengthen and regulate the heart. It is especially good for weakened heart muscles caused by age, and for insufficiency of the heart valves (angina pectoris). It alleviates Hypertrophy (enlargement of the heart) and fibrillation of the heart. It relaxes the blood vessels and this helps to lower blood pressure. Hawthorn possesses a unique balancing effect on the heart and circulation, thus qualifying it as a reliable support tonic in cardiovascular care. Several recent German studies verify that Hawthorn will increase coronary circulation by dilating coronary vessels and strengthen heart and muscle tissue while acting as a mild diuretic (useful in hypertension). It also contains components which have been shown to improve tone and elasticity of arteries and veins. Hawthorn has been shown effective in nutritional support of angina, degenerative cardiac muscle, heart-related hypertension, myocardial weakness from infectious diseases of the heart, and as prevention from tachycardia and arrhythmia. Cayenne is considered primarily as a circulatory stimulant. Taking this herb will give more power to the circulatory system and can improve symptoms such as cold extremities, colds, flu's, sore throat, arthritis, poor digestion, fatigue, headaches, indigestion, can normalise high or low blood pressure. Cayenne is a herb that will feed the necessary elements into the cell structures of the arteries, veins and capillaries so that they regain elasticity and so that blood pressure returns to normal. Cayenne equalises blood pressure, influencing the heart immediately. Cayenne has been used as a remedy for heart attacks. As a stimulant, it can start the heart into action again and keep it going. Cayenne is one of the richest and most stable sources of Vitamin E, which is known to be a heart builder. Dr John Christopher, the Late Master Herbalist, reported, In 35 years of practice, and working with people and teaching, I have never, on house calls, lost one heart attack patient and the reason is, Whenever I go in - if they are still breathing - I give them a cup of cayenne tea (a teaspoon of cayenne in a cup of hot water), and within minutes they are up and walking around. This is one of the fastest acting aids we could give for the heart, because it feeds the heart immediately. Cayenne can help re-establish circulation to the limbs affected by frostbite and diabetes. An internal dose will bring warmth and circulation to feet and hands that are chronically cold and suffering from chilblains. One of cayenne's most common uses is as a gastric stimulant and digestive aid. It rebuilds the stomach tissue and stimulates peristalsis, thus assisting in assimilation and elimination. Cayenne is used as a diaphoretic (to promote sweat). It should be given when a chill is coming on, to offset a cold or to break a fever, as it sustains circulation and assists in the removal of mucous. Cayenne works powerfully to arrest bleeding. According to Dr Christopher, "You can place cayenne powder on an open wound, even one that is gushing blood and by the count of ten, the bleeding will usually cease. If there is internal haemorrhaging in the lungs, stomach, uterus or nose, have the person take a teaspoon of cayenne in a glass of warm water. He states that the blood pressure will be equalised, taking the pressure off the affected part, clotting will begin and the haemorrhage will stop. Cayenne would be a good herb to take if you suffer from any of the following ailments: High or low blood pressure, heart problems, to strengthen your circulatory system, cold hands and feet, chilblains, shingles, bleeding and wounds, pain, colds, flu, fever, sinus, stomach problems, frostbite and diabetes. Garlic Research indicates that garlic's key component is a sulphur compound called "allicin". Allicin is a mysterious compound. It is considered essential, yet it is not found in high levels in whole garlic. Allicin is formed from the amino acid "alliin". Alliin is converted into allicin by an enzyme (alliinase) when garlic is cut, chewed or ingested. Once formed, allicin is unstable and will change into other compounds in a few days. Therefore, it is critical that alliin and alliinase are properly stabilised and introduced into the body where they can effectively create allicin. Many processing methods can cause allicin to form during the manufacturing process, allowing it to breakdown into compounds that are not found in fresh garlic and that are much less active than allicin. By the time such products are ingested, very little allicin potency remains. Human and animal studies have substantiated that garlic lowers serum cholesterol and triglycerides and increase the amount of high-density-lipoproteins. Dietary induced atherosclerosis was significantly reversed in rabbits when fed garlic consistently for 21 days. The incidence of major diseases associated with high cholesterol - such as cancer, diabetes and atherosclerosis, could be reduced with regular consumption of garlic. Garlic strengthens the blood vessels and equalises both high and low blood pressure. If you have had a heart attack one of the key substances you should be including in your diet is garlic. Platelet aggregation superimposed on an atherosclerotic vessel is a major antecedent event causing myocardial injury, infarction, and thromboembolic diseases. Studies have shown that garlic has great potential in inhibiting platelet aggregation and enhancing fibrinolytic activity.
