Impetigo
Impetigo (also known as "school sores") is a skin disease caused by bacterial infection and usually affects preschool and school-age children. Symptoms are pus-filled skin lesions located mainly on the face and hands. A child may be more likely to develop impetigo if the skin has already been irritated by other skin problems, such as eczema and cuts or scrapes. It is spread by scratching the lesions and contaminating other skin areas. Strict hygiene is essential to prevent the spread of the infection. Certain vitamins, minerals and herbs can help support the immune system and assist the healing process.
