Health Benefits of Noni Juice

Wow, can just 1 fruit provide us with all of this?  Read on to find out more.

Heres what Life Health have to tell us about their Noni Juice.

AUGUST 23rd 2007: (Express India) Vitamins C & E - Researchers at the Biochemistry department of Lucknow University (LU) India have found that Vitamin C and E can help prevent heart attacks and other cardio-vascular diseases.

Successful clinical trials have led to the the research being published in various journals such as like Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry (Canada), Experimental and Clinical Cardiology (Europe), PUBMED USA (part of the US National Library of Medicine).

Professor M K Mishra of the varsity's Biochemistry department said, "In our study we have found that Vitamin (C and E) can efficiently regulate the blood and oxygen supply to heart. These vitamins also act as clot busters, thereby making the heart to function normally." Trials were conducted on 65 heart patients. Potentially harmful free radicals formed inside the heart were reported to have been reduced considerably.

Vitamin E - Antioxidants such as vitamin E help protect your cells against the effects of free radicals, (potentially damaging by-products of energy metabolism).

Free radicals can damage cells and may contribute to the development of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Vitamin E also may help prevent the formation of blood clots, which could lead to a heart attack. Vitamin E has also been shown to play a role in immune function, in DNA repair, and other metabolic processes [Traber MG. Vitamin E. In: Shils ME, Olson JA, Shike M, Ross AC, ed. Modern Nutrition in Health and Disease. 10th ed. Baltimore: Williams & Wilkins, 1999:347-62.].

Observational studies have associated lower rates of heart disease with higher vitamin E intake. A study of approximately 90,000 nurses suggested that the incidence of heart disease was 30% to 40% lower among nurses with the highest intake of vitamin E from diet and supplements.

Researchers found that the apparent benefit was mainly associated with intake of vitamin E from dietary supplements. High vitamin E intake from food was not associated with significant cardiac risk reduction [New England Journal of Medicine 1993;328:1444-9 PUBMED ABSTRACT].

Vitamin A - helps regulate the immune system, which helps prevent or fight off infections by making white blood cells that destroy harmful bacteria and viruses.

Vitamin A deficiency diminishes the ability to fight infections. In vitamin A-deficient individuals, cells lining the lungs lose their ability to remove disease-causing microorganisms. This may contribute to the pneumonia associated with vitamin A deficiency [Ross AC. Vitamin A and retinoids. In: Modern Nutrition in Health and Disease. 9th Edition (edited by Shils ME, Olson J, Shike M, Ross AC). Lippincott Williams and Wilkins, New York, 1999, pp. 305-27.].

Vitamin B6 - The nervous and immune systems need vitamin B6 to function efficiently. [Gerster H. The importance of vitamin B6 for development of the infant. Human medical and animal experiment studies. Z Ernahrungswiss 1996; 35:309-17. [PubMed abstract] from Office of Dietary Supplements.

A deficiency of vitamin B6, folic acid, or vitamin B12 may increase your level of homocysteine, an amino acid normally found in your blood [Selhub J, Jacques PF, Boston AG, D'Agostino RB, Wilson PW, Belanger AJ, O'Leary DH, Wolf PA, Scaefer EJ, Rosenberg IH. Association between plasma homocysteine concentrations and extracranial carotid-artery stenosis. New England Journal of Medicine 1995; 332:286-291. [PubMed abstract].

There is evidence that an elevated homocysteine level is an independent risk factor for heart disease and stroke [Rimm EB, Willett WC, Hu FB, Sampson L, Colditz GA, Manson JE, Hennekens C, Stampfer MJ. Folate and vitamin B6 from diet and supplements in relation to risk of coronary heart disease among women Journal of American Medical Association JAMA 1998; 279:359-64.].

The evidence suggests that high levels of homocysteine may damage coronary arteries or make it easier for blood clotting cells called platelets to clump together and form a clot - although the Office of Dietary Supplements USA say "However, there is currently no evidence available to suggest that lowering homocysteine level with vitamins will reduce your risk of heart disease." Read on though...

Think about this for second - what is the natural result of a blocked artery, say because of platelet build up described above? Well aterial blood flow stops ... meaning very grave health issues indeed as a result. We leave it to you to decide whether it's wise to allow such build ups and clots to occur in your arteries.

Vitamin B12 - helps maintain healthy nerve cells and red blood cells and is also needed to help make DNA, the genetic material in all cells. Intestinal disorders such as Crohn's disease, an inflammatory bowel disease that affects the small intestines may result from malabsorption of vitamin B12.

Zinc - The immune system is adversely affected by even moderate degrees of zinc deficiency. Severe zinc deficiency depresses immune function [Shankar AH & Prasad AS. Zinc and Immune Function: Biological basis of altered resistance to infection American Journal of Clinical Nutrition 1998; 68:447S-463S].

Zinc is required for the development and activation of T-lymphocytes, a kind of white blood cell that helps fight infection [Beck FW, Prasad AS, Kaplan J, Fitzgerald JT, Brewer GJ, Changes in cytokine production and T Cell subpopulations in experimentally induced zinc-deficient humans American Journal of Physiology 1997; 272:E1002-1007]

Magnesium - Lack of magnesium in one's diet has often been shown as associated with increased risk of sudden-death heart attack, as well as when drinking water magnesium levels were low [Epidemiology 10: 31-36, 1999; Heart 82: 455-60, 1999; American Journal of Epidemiology 143: 456-62, 1996]

Calcium - among many functions, calcium is important in the battle against bone loss and Osteoporosis as you age. It's also been found in clinical studies to decrease blood pressure significantly when taken via low fat dairy produce combined with fresh fruit and vegetables. [Miller GD, DiRienzo DD, Reusser M, McCarron D. Benefits of dairy product consumption on blood pressure in humans: A summary of the biomedical literature. Journal of the American College of Nutrition 2000;19:147S-164S.]

Due to lack of space and time, it's impossible to list every single vitamin, mineral and amino acid included in NONI and show in depth medical findings on what they can individually they do for you, but The Office Of Dietry Supplements at the National Institutes of Health is a great place to find out about them. Most of the information provided above has come fron this authoritative Government body.

So just to summarise, NONI contains all of the following in abundance - hence you can understand why it can rightly claim to be a 'SUPER FOOD' - A, C, E, B1, B2, B6, B12, Niacin, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid (B5), Folic Acid, Calcium, Iron, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper, Chromium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Sodium Potassium plus Anthraquinones, Glycosides, Sterols, bioflavanoids, carotenoids and more...

How do Life Health Make their Noni Juice?

1) Our traditional growers are fully trained and experienced in the art of choosing only the perfectly ripened fruits for processing. Making Noni juice is a time honoured tradition in the Pacific islands.

2) The ripe fruit is fermented in barrels for 60 to 90 days. This process is left to the island people themselves as their lifestyle allows them the luxury of time richness.

"Brix" level testing has found this to be optimum time frame, but this can also vary from island to island. The pulp is then gently pressed to extract the juice. A course mesh is used to enable all the puree to be extracted. Like fine wine, this process cannot be shortened for pecuniary gain. The full potential of the product must be realized.

3) All our gardens are certified Organic. This lengthy process has been three years in the making. The active elements within the fruit can be easily destroyed through chemical fertilization and pesticide sprays. All our fruits are harvested from trees that are grown in their natural organic environment.

4) The raw juice is shipped from the islands to NZ in barrels or bladders which incorporate special "breathers" to keep the "live" elements within the product in a stable state.

5) There is no need for elaborate scientific formulas, which few people can really appreciate, to describe the process of making Noni juice. Our juice is simply manufactured the same manner as the Polynesian people have done it for centuries, but using today?s hygiene and manufacturing standards to preserve the active ingredients for a far greater period. Nothing in this process needs to be hidden under the guise of complicated scientific specifications.

6) The processing and bottling plant here in NZ is certified by Agriquality NZ to the world standards of food processing. "Agriquality" is a government certified quality control company specializing in the certification of all exported food products from NZ. We also use them as an independent tester of our products.

We are very mindful of the results that some manufacturers obtain through "In House" analyses, so we use only independent outside suitably qualified and registered laboratories for all our procedures.

7) Our juice is pasteurized and hot bottled to preserve all the natural ingredients within the product. Nothing else is added to our juice.

Our juice is 100% pure Organic Noni Juice.

Consumers can add anything they like for enhanced flavoring, but most serious drinkers become accustomed to the slightly bitter natural flavor. We only recommend the use of natural berry juices high in antioxidants like; blackcurrant, blueberry and raspberry as suitable flavoring additives. The Noni fruit has a natural sugar content and this is available in concentrated form to add some sweetness if desired.

8) All our bottling batches are tested by independent laboratories and the relevant paperwork is included with each shipment. We are committed to these high standards of quality and believe it is the right of our valued customers to receive this service for a product which is consumed for its remarkable health giving properties, and can so easily be compromised by incorrect procedures at any stage.

9) With our sophisticated QC program in place we are able to document our product through the entire process. There are many suppliers of Noni juice worldwide, but very few can lay claim to such a tracking system. See the Flow Chart for Life Health Ltd.

Only reputable Noni suppliers will have a quality system in place to ensure the optimum nutrient content in each bottle.

Remember!! Not all Noni juices are equal.

Many people are marketing Noni for the wrong reasons. This "gift from nature" should be shared and readily available to all mankind. There is an obligation, for those of us in the business to educate and inform the public on the wonderful health benefits and subsequent lifestyle improvements that are readily obtained through drinking the Noni.

It is apparent that too many companies simply add Noni to their product range without investing in the training and infrastructure necessary to enlighten people of the benefits.

Marketing the Noni should reflect a responsibility and duty to help others.

It is evident that a large number of Noni suppliers are simply "riding on the back" of those who have spent the time and resources to educate the public and make the Noni an accessible product.

The only real proof in the benefits and potency of the juice is through drinking it and experiencing the results first hand.

You may be tempted to try cheaper versions and in doing so will realize the difference that quality control makes to the effectiveness of the end product.

We are constantly striving to understand exactly how the Noni works.

The most qualified endorsement to date is the hundreds of thousands of committed Noni users worldwide.
