Common Uses

Fennel's digestive properties make it useful in treating gas, acid stomach, cramps and bloating. It can also be useful in colic in both adults and children. Fennel may also aid weight loss as it aids digestion, suppresses the appetite, increases diuresis and encourages healthy bowel function. Anyone with sluggish metabolism may benefit from supplementing their diet with fennel. Fennel also has a mild oestrogenic effect thereby making it effective in increasing breast milk and bringing on menstruation. It may also be useful in prostate cancer as female sex hormones are often prescribed (only recommended in consultation with the supervising doctor).

Suggested Dosage

One capsule 2 or 3 times daily, with water at meal times.
