Lotus Agar Agar Powder. The basic seaweed raw material is gathered in many areas throughout the world. The Far East is one of the major sources, particularly in Japan, where agar plays an important role in the diet of the people. Commercial Agar is processes by hot water extractings of the cleaned and bleached seaweed, followed by freezing to allow the removal of soluable salts and finally, filtration.  The resulting extract is then dried and milled to the desired particle size. Suggested Dosage

Agar is insoluable in cold water, slowly soluable in hot water and totally soluable in boiling water.  Approximately 1/2 teaspoon of Agar Agar powder is used per 1 cup of liquid.  Soak agar agar in liquid being used for 10-15 minutes, then bring gently to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes to dissolve and cook it properly.
