Livatone can help with liver and digestive problems such as constipation, diarrhoea, gas, bloating, headaches, skin problems, fatigue, low energy levels, lowered immunity. Use this product long term, or for a "Spring Clean" for 3 months or so.

Suggested Dosage

Sandra Cabot's instructions for use: Adults and children over 12 years of age: Begin with 1 capsule twice a day. After 1 week, increase to 2 capsules twice a day. Take with food. Leanne always suggests that if you have not completed a liver cleanse before &/or if you are experiencing typical liver over load symptoms, always start with just 1 capsule once a day only. Take 1 capsule for at least 3 days in a row, before increasing to 1 capsule twice a day. Maintain this dosage for 1 week, before increasing to 1 capsule in the morning and 2 capsules in the evening for a further 4 days, then increase to 2 capsules twice a day.

Livatone is the liver cleansing formula devised by Dr Sandra Cabot, who wrote The Liver Cleansing Diet. The ingredients she wrote about in this book, that are vital for helping with better liver function, are all contained in this product. They include St. Mary's Thistle (Milk Thistle). Research has shown that Milk Thistle can protect against some severe liver toxins. Many studies have been done in humans, which prove the healing & protective effects of this herb. One of the active ingredients in Milk thistle, Silymarin, functions as an antioxidant and reduces damage to cell membranes. It reduces the formation of leukotrienes, which are dangerous inflammatory chemicals. Silymarin can increase the quantity of the powerful liver protector called glutathione, and improves protein synthesis in the liver. Taurine. Taurine is a sulfur bearing amino-acid that should be present in all liver tonics. It is essential for the healthy production of bile, and the liver uses it to conjugate toxins & drugs to excrete from the body through the bile. It helps the liver to excrete excessive cholesterol out of the body through the bile, and thus is an aid for weight control & the prevention of atherosclerosis. Taurine is made from the amino acids methionine & cysteine and is called the detoxifying amino acid. It is one of the most abundant sulfur-based amino acids in the body. It is an essential component of cell membranes, where it plays a role in stabilizing transport across cell membranes and provides antioxidant protection. Taurine plays a major role in the liver via the formation of bile acids and detoxification. It is the major amino acid required for the removal of toxic chemicals and metabolites from the body as a component of bile and urine. Psyllium is an excellent source of soluble mucilloid fibre and has been shown to lower cholesterol levels by 14 to 20% after 8 weeks. The largest trial conducted looking at the benefits of psyllium fibre was carried out at the University of Newcastle, Australia, and found that psyllium is probably the best cholesterol lowering fibre available. Dandelion known as Taraxacum Officinale, has been used by diverse cultures for centuries to help those with liver & biliary complaints. It is able to stimulate digestion and the production & flow of bile. This is because it contains bitter substances such as taraxacin and inulin. Dandelion as well as being a specific liver herb, has laxative, diuretic, anti-inflammatory and cholagogue actions. Studies found that dandelion successfully treats hepatitis, liver swelling, jaundice and indigestion in those with inadequate bile secretion. Globe Artichoke also known as Cynara scolymus is a bitter tonic with liver-protective & liver-restorative actions. Clinical studies have established its value in lowering blood cholesterol and urea & nitrogen waste products of metabolism. It is of use as a liver restorative in cases of liver insufficiency & damage, poor digestion, gallstones, and chronic constipation. Carrot, Beetroot, Alfalfa and Barley leaf are added to provide a boost of chlorophyll, antioxidants, carotenoids and fibre. Lecithin helps the liver to metabolise fats & reduces high cholesterol levels. It contains phosphatidylcholine, which is beneficial for the cell membranes in the liver. Peppermint is a carminative and is said to relax the esophageal sphincter and visceral muscles. It is useful in cases of travel and morning sickness, irritable bowel syndrome and as a digestive aid. All of these ingredients can be found in Livetone Classic.

The active ingredients are incorporated in a nutritional herbal base including : Lecithin 80mg, Barley leaf powder 39mg, Beetroot powder 15mg, Carrot powder 15mg, Calcium hydrogen phosphate 25mg, Peppermint leaf powder 2mg, Silica colloidal anhydrous 15mg, Magnesium stearate 15mg, Vegetable capsule 100mg. Contains NO table salt, lactose, dairy products, gluten, artificial colours, artificial flavours, artificial sweeteners or preservatives.
