Common Uses

Used to help treat colds, flu, respiratory infections, bronchitis, whooping cough, respiratory catarrh and seasonal asthma. Garlic also helps lower serum cholesterol and triglycerides, helps maintain circulatory efficiency, decreases blood viscosity by inhibiting platelet aggregation and increasing fibrinolysis, and helps reduce high blood pressure.

Suggested Dosage

Take 1 tablet three times daily with meals. Garlicin should be taken consistently for maximum benefit.

Health Information

Garlic has antimicrobial, expectorant, diaphoretic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It has a natural antibiotic effect, helping the body fight colds, flu and infections. One body system to benefit from garlic is the respiratory tract. Garlic can help make a cough more productive and improve the expectoration of mucus by loosening it. Echinacea has been shown to be an effective antibacterial, antiviral and immune system stimulant or infection fighter. It is excellent for helping treat the causes of fever, infection, colds and flu and is specific for all glandular infections. It is specific for laryngitis, tonsillitis and for catarrhal conditions of the nose and sinuses. Zinc is vital for healthy skin, hair, nails, maintaining prostate health as well as being essential for immune function. Zinc is deficient in New Zealand soils and is depleted further by stress, illness and exercise. Vitamin C needs to by continually replaced or replenished by the diet, as humans cannot produce this essential vitamin. Vitamin C has many functions in the body and has been found to be vitally important in helping fight bacterial infections and reduce the effects on the body of some allergy producing substances. For this reason, Vitamin C is frequently used in the prevention and treatment of the common cold. Vitamin C is essential for stimulating the immune system, helping the body to resist disease. Two Garlicin tablets is equivalent to one large raw fresh cut clove of Garlic. Although Garlicin is not "odour free" (as such products have destroyed most of the active constituents of Garlic), it is odour controlled. This is due to the enteric coating, which protects the alliinase from destruction by stomach acid. Because the tablet does not dissolve until it reaches the intestine, there is little chance of a bounce-back of odour from the stomach. If any odour is noticed on the breath or through skin pores, ensure the tablet is being taken before a meal with a glass of water and/or spread a two or more tablet dose between the different meals.

Ingredients per enteric coated tablet: Garlic powder (bulb), releasing 960mcg allicin 105mg, Bioflavonoid complex (citrus) 40mg, Echinacea purpurea (stem, leaf, flower) 205mg, Optizinc 5mg, Vitamin C (as calcium ascorbate) 20mg,  Calcium (dicalcium phosphate/calcium ascorbate) 28mg. Other ingredients:Aqeous coating solution, Cellulose, maltodextrin, modified cellulose gum, modified cellulose, whey (milk), stearic acid, silica.

Safety Information

Keep out of reach of children. Consult your doctor if you have a disease or health related condition that requires the lowering of cholesterol. Persons taking anti-clotting medications should consult their physician before using Garlic in medicinal doses. At the recommended dosage of one tablet per day, Garlicin is very unlikely to present a problem with clotting disorders. Not recommended above stated dosage for nursing mothers (this applies to raw Garlic also). No other interactions or contraindications are known. In all cases of ill health, seek professional advice before self prescribing.
