DPP-IV enzymes are naturally found in the human digestive tract; however inadequate activity of this group of enzymes is seen in Coeliacs and those with gluten intolerance. DPP-IV deficiency has also been linked to other digestive conditions including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Preliminary information has also shown that those with autism spectrum disorders commonly have inadequate levels of these enzymes; therefore supplementation may be beneficial, especially if maldigestion is apparent. Those with severe sensitivities to soy, corn or yeast should not use this product.
