Common Uses

Bromelain  An effective anti inflammatory agent that may assist with relief of inflammation of any description, especially those associated with infection, allergy and physical injuries.  Highly recommended for muscular, back, joint or menstrual pain, headaches, minor injuries such as sprains strains, muscle injuries, swelling and tenderness, post surgical healing, inflamed insect bites, histamine/inflammatory allergic reactions and varicose veins.   Aids protein digestion reducing indigestion, bloating  and flatulence.  Assists with management of hyper coagulation and blood viscosity. 

Suggested Dosage

As a digestive aid: 1 tablet with meals.  Pain, injury and inflammation: Up to 4 tablets daily between meals.

Radiance Bromelain, is one of the highest natural potencies available of this proteolytic enzyme, providing 500mg of 2000 GDU pineapple stem extract bromelain.   (GDU gelatin dissolving units - test of bromelains level of biological activity) Bromelain is a group of potent biologically active enzymes that facilitate protein digestion when taken with food and act as an anti-inflammatory, anti fibrin and anti microbial when taken on an empty stomach.

First introduced as a therapeutic compound in 1957, bromelains actions include inhibition of platelet aggregation: fibrinolytic (anti-clot and anti-fibroid) activity, anti-inflammatory action; anti tumour actions; modulation of cytokines and immunity; enhanced absorption of other drugs; mucolytic properties; digestive assistance; enhanced wound healing and cardiovascular and circulatory improvement.

Bromelain is well absorbed orally and available evidence indicates that its therapeutic effects are enhanced with higher doses.  Although all of its mechanisms of action are still not completely understood, it has been demonstrated to be a safe and effective supplement.

Bromelain is a safe alternative to both analgesics (pain killers) and NSAIDs (non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs). Bromelain has been shown to reduce pain, inflammation, swelling and help thin the blood.  Research has shown that bromelain supplements may reduce swelling, bruising, healing time and pain following surgery and physical injuries, plus help suppress cough, reduce nasal mucus associated with sinusitis and relieve the swelling and inflammation caused by hay fever.

Some evidence supports the use of high doses of bromelain, nattokinase and other proteolytic enzyme for the reduction of fibroids and excess fibrous tissue growth. 

Ingredients

Ingredients per tablet: Bromelain (2000 GDU) 500mg (GDU: Gelatin digesting units) 100% vegan formula. Cellulose, pineapple juice powder, stearic acid, magnesium stearate.  No corn, egg, gluten, milk derivatives, nuts, salt, soy, added sugar, wheat, yeast, artificial preservatives, flavourings or colours.

Safety Information

Keep out of reach of Children. Not recommended during pregnancy and lactation or for those allergic to pineapple.  Do not use in conjunction with anticoagulant medications.  Take away from other medications.  Contraindicated in conditions associated with bleeding, including haemophillia.
