Common Uses

As a refreshing drink. Can be used as a coffee substitute. A useful liver cleanser, digestive tonic & mild diuretic.

Suggested Dosage

Directions: Use one teaspoon of ground per cup or one heaped tablespoon per litre boiling water, infuse for a few minutes in a plunger, teapot, straight in a pre-heated cup or use a flask. Alternatively simmer in a pot of 1-2 minutes. A sweetener and some milk can be added if desired, or some spice such as fresh ginger, cardamom, coriander or cinnamon.

Golden Fields Dandelion & Burdock Coffee is a unique coffee substitute made from roasted dandelion and burdock roots. The medicinal properties of burdock root are similar to those of dandelion root. Burdock is diuretic and diaphoretic, it is one of the best blood purifiers and a remedy for all skin diseases including eczema. Put together, dandelion and burdock reinforce each other's action, in particular as a liver tonic. Burdock contains its own bitter substance, lappin and is suitable for a diabetic diet. Dandelion & Burdock makes a light coffee alternative with a distinctive spicy burdock flavour. It is naturally caffeine-free.

Ingredients

Organic dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale), organic burdock root (Articum lappa) both grown in New Zealand and freshly roasted.
