Lactase is an enzyme produced ion the body by newborns so that they may digest mothers breast milk (or milk formulas).  As an infant grows the production of lactase dwindles and continues to decline as we age until the ability to produce lactase is reduced to about 5% to 10% of the original newborn level. More and more newborns are being born with an inability to tolerate lactase, indicating a possible genetic lactase insufficiency. Necessary to digest the milk sugar lactose, up to 70% of the worlds population suffer with symptoms of lactose deficiency. The addition of supplemental lactase enzyme to the diet can help relieve the discomfort of simple lactase deficiency.  Thee symptoms include pain and cramping in the stomach and intestinal tract after the consumption of dairy containing foods or drinks. Diarrhoea is usually the way the body deals with this, by purging it out of the body.

Suggested Dosage

For individuals with lactose intolerance or difficulty in digesting dairy products. Take three capsules as needed just prior to ingesting foods or beverages containing dairy products or lactose.

Take one capsule if you are taking medications or vitamins containing lactose.

Serving Size is 3 capsules.  Each 3 capsules contain Lactase 10,350 FCC units 690mg.  Other ingredients: Maltodextrin, gelatin capsule, magnesium stearate.

So this means that each 1 capsule contains 230mg.
