Common Uses

Vitamin C is vital for: First line defence against oxidation and free radical damage, both of which are known to initiate many of the most common diseases - cancer, heart disease, age-related eye diseases and other chronic conditions. Maintenance of healthy connective tissue and bones (a deficiency often leads to bleeding and poor wound healing). Normal metabolism of cholesterol and the production of cortisol by the adrenal gland. The production of collagen (found in both skin and bones) in the metabolism or various brain chemicals. The synthesis of the hormone noradrenalin, which has powerful effects upon pulse rate and blood pressure. Supports the body's natural mechanism of preventing or reducing inflammation with a vigorous immune response, reducing the discomfort normally associated with colds and infections.

Suggested Dosage

Adults 1 to 3 grams (1,000 to 3,000mg) daily in a glass of Orange* or other fruit juice. Stir until dissolved. Children - Half adult dose. 2.0 grams equals 1 level 2.5 metric spoon. *Freshly squeezed orange juice is preferred because of the available bioflavonoids within the pulp.

Vitamin C is the best known vitamin and plays the most important role in maintaining our health and well being. Similarly bioflavonoid's are essential for promoting the circulatory system by preserving the integrity of the blood vessels - particularly the fragile capillaries and reduction of capillary filtration rate, without affecting blood flow or venous capacity. Flavonoids also improve chronic venous insufficiencies. Both Vitamin C & Bioflavanoids work synergistically as evident by their common occurrence naturally in citrus fruits, cherries , grapes, potatoes etc. Deficiency symptoms: Irregular blood pressure in both arms, pins and needles sensation in finger tips and toes, tender gums with bleeding during brushing of teeth, cold hands and feet, susceptible to catching cold and minor infections, suffering occasional cramps, bruise easily, feeling dizzy when suddenly standing from sitting, bending or lying down, crackling joints, experiencing shortness of breath, sensitive and/or lack of tolerance to heat or cold. If the answer is yes to the above symptoms, then it may well be that a Vitamin C and Bioflavonoid deficiency exists and taking this is a pleasant and convenient way of supplementing Vitamin C and providing temporary relief.

Safety Information

Keep out of reach of Children. Large amounts of vitamin C in one dose may initiate loose bowel movements. For maximum effectiveness vitamin C should be taken in divided doses throughout the day. If bowel tolerance is met, reduce intake slowly throughout the next few days. Do not take more than 5,000mg per day if pregnant, or suffer from gout.
