A refreshing coffee like drink that has a tonic effect on the liver.
DIRECTIONS: Use one teaspoon per cup or one heaped tablespoon per litre water. Simmer five minutes then strain. Alternatively steep in hot water or percolate.
With Milk: Put one tablespoon in half litre cold milk, heat to desired temperature and infuse for ten minutes
With Coffee: In a percolator, use two parts coffee to one part dandelion granules. Prepared this way, coffee is more digestible and refreshing.
Our suggestion is: The first time you use this, you must make a weak cup. This is because of dandelion coffee's powerful liver cleansing properties. So only make it 1/2 the strength. For best results, heat cup first, use boiling water and cover.
Golden Fields Roasted Organic Chicory root sachets contain lightly roasted chicory roots in granules. Naturally caffeine-free, they make a full-bodied drink that can be taken anytime of the day, best 1 1/2 hours after a main meal, especially before resting. Chicory is a herb that is specific for the liver, gall bladder and spleen. It supports the liver, promotes the formation of bile and removes excess fluid from the body - which is usually accumulated when the liver is malfunctioning. This herb is also an excellent blood purifier for conditions such as acne, itchy and scaly rashes and eczema. Chicory has also been used as a drink to help in the elimination of gall stones and for the elimination of internal mucus. It is also used for gastritis, poor appetite (It won't increase your appetite if it is already ok) and digestive difficulties. Chicory is a plant from the same family as dandelion. Chicory roots have been used throughout time for their tonifying, cleansing and digestive properties. Milk mixed with Chicory is pleasantly flavoured and more digestible.
