Common Uses

A safe, easily assimilated nutritional supplement. Excellent during pregnancy and lactation. Helps promote metabolic activity in low stomach acid and conditions involving loss of appetite and low energy. Nettle may assist with the elimination of kidney gravel and uric acid build-up, especially in arthritic and gout conditions and help reduce iron-deficiency anaemia. Also useful in allergies, hay fever, asthma, and urinary disorders.

Suggested Dosage

Two capsules twice daily with food.

Health Information

A highly nutritious herbal supplement providing a wide range of vitamins and minerals including relatively high amounts of chlorophyll, calcium, potassium, silica and iron, plus vitamins A, B1, B2, B9, C, E and K, manganese, copper, zinc, magnesium, cobolt and sulphur. Nettle also contains 30% protein. It is said "no plant is more useful in domestic medicine". Nettle is a nutritive tonic with anti-haemorrhagic, diuretic, alterative, galactagogue, and expectorant properties. Useful as a tonic during pregnancy, and breast feeding, to improve vitamin K status, supply nutrients and increase lactation (may also help reduce excessive milk production). For convalescence, anaemia, acne, eczema (especially infants and nervous eczema), allergic rhinitis, and mild internal bleeding. Nettle is also an antirheumatic, which helps eliminate uric acid from the body. (This is a herb preparation as opposed to the root or rhizome, which is useful for prostatic hypertrophy - especially in combination with saw palmetto).
