Common Uses

Used internally for any infection, gastric or duodenal ulcers, mucous membrane inflammation, irritation or infection, colitis, upper respiratory tract catarrh. Topically it may be used neat or added to garlic oil for ear infections, tinnitus, mouth ulcers, acne, fungal infections, impetigo, thrush, infected eczema, cold sores, conjunctivitis (with boiled water as a wash) etc.

Suggested Dosage

Acute: Two capsules three times daily; not to exceed ten days. Chronic: One capsule three times daily for three to four weeks. For best results, use for 2 weeks continuously, then take a 1 or 2 week break. Long term use of Golden Seal Root may cause fatigue and listlessness due to B-vitamins malabsorption. Not intended for use by persons with low blood sugar, high blood pressure or during pregnancy or lactation.

Each capsule contains 535mg of Golden Seal Root which is harvested from the wild in the Appalachian Mountains of the Eastern United States. Goldenseal is an endangered herb so Nature's Way use only cultivated crops. An immune system stimulant, Golden Seal root is specific for all problems of the mucous membranes and has been found to be helpful to the digestive system and uterus. It affects the immune system by stimulating the production of white blood cells. Constituents have also been shown to lower blood pressure, stimulate digestion and the secretion of bile and inhibit the growth of bacteria. It is good for infectious diarrhoea and gastritis, ulcers, colitis and inflammation. Golden seal root is twice the potency of golden seal herb.
